Yogi Chugh

I love Fremont, and want to keep Fremont a place that is great to live, work, and play for generations to come.

For 35 years I've lived in Fremont, and I started my small business. With my wife Monika, I raised our 2 children who both attended Fremont public schools. I've loved our unique neighborhoods,  rich diversity,  and great restaurants and entertainment options  -- they make Fremont an incredible place to live and raise a family.

In my time in our City, I have been involved in many community service programs and have worked to champion local community issues. I currently serves as a Commissioner on the Fremont Economic Development Commission aimed at promoting the economic health and vitality of our local businesses. I have also served as an Advisory Board member of Drivers for Survivors, an Associate Board Member of the Fremont Education Foundation, and as an Advisory Board member for Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA), an organization dedicated to helping young people get active in civic engagement.

As a member of the Fremont 4th of July Parade Committee, I've helped lead our annual parade festivities, including this past year's successful "Porch Parade" program to celebrate America' s Birthday in a fun and safe way . And from my experiences as Chair of the Fremont Planning Commissioner, I served  to create and implement our 25 year General Plan.  I have also served as a Library Commissioner for City of Fremont and as Spokesperson for Fremonts Festival of Globe (FOG)

As Co-Host of the radio talk show The Power Hour! I help lead conversations that tackle the issues of the day weaved in with coverage of events and community organizations making a difference in our local communities.

Now, I’m running for Fremont City Council to represent the 6th District to ensure that our community comes out quicker and stronger than ever before as we recover from the economic uncertainty due to COVID-19.
